Digital Workshop Center (DWC) is a school for tech careers on a mission to empower students to gain job skills in high growth, high demand occupations. Since 2006, our school has been a powerful resource across the US for students looking for bootcamp or non-traditional higher education. DWC enrolls students of all backgrounds and skill levels.

We are seeking a contract instructor to teach in our Digital Marketing certificate program. This is a six month commitment at approximately nine class hours per week, delivered live and online.

The full curriculum and course materials have already been built, so you can step in and teach from day one. That said, we value academic creative freedom and actively encourage instructors to bring their own expertise, real world examples, and ideas to customize and strengthen the classes.

The ideal candidate has a focus on adult higher education, a patient teaching style, and a genuine commitment to student employment outcomes. This is a fixed rate contract teaching opportunity.

What you will be teaching

The Digital Marketing certificate is a live, instructor-led program organized to build skills in the sequence that matches how marketing work actually flows inside an organization. The curriculum covers:

  • Digital marketing strategy, including audience segmentation, target personas, and the financial metrics that matter (KPIs, ROAS, CPA, and customer lifetime value)
  • Core marketing channels and tools: SEO, social media and paid social advertising, email marketing, and paid search with Google Ads
  • Analytics in Google Analytics, including reporting dashboards, segmentation, attribution, goal tracking, and communicating performance to stakeholders
  • Content creation and AI tools, including Canva for asset creation and AI-powered content ideation, copy generation, and image creation
  • Advanced strategy: content marketing, customer engagement and retention, storytelling and persuasion, and budget allocation across channels
  • A final Capstone project in which students present a complete digital marketing strategy as a portfolio piece, presented live to the class

Students also complete Google Marketing certificates as part of the program.

A note on pay structure

Pay is dependent on the number of students enrolled in the cohort. We are committed to our students, so we will run the program even with a single student enrolled. $8000/cohort for 2 students; $8500 for 3 students; $9500 for 4 students or more. The hourly equivalent is between $40-$48 per hour.

About You

  • Expert in digital marketing across SEO, paid search (Google Ads), paid social, email, content marketing, and analytics, with hands-on command of the modern marketing toolset (Google Analytics, Canva, and AI-assisted workflows)
  • Able to provide use cases and examples of how to apply marketing skills in real workplace settings
  • Tech savvy individual who is comfortable in a fast-paced tech bootcamp environment
  • Experience teaching online via Zoom
  • Comfortable with the teaching schedule described above
  • Takes joy in talking with and helping students advance their careers
  • High attention to detail
  • Kind and friendly personality
  • Understanding of conflict management
  • Resourceful problem solver

Requirements

  • Demonstrated expertise across the digital marketing stack: SEO, paid search and paid social advertising, Google Analytics, content marketing, and AI-powered marketing tools
  • Professional experience working in a digital marketing role or a closely related field
  • Online teaching experience
  • Positive attitude and strong student support skills
  • Demonstrated ability to convey complex subjects to those with less knowledge than you
  • Understanding of contract work, including that contract opportunities and cohort sizes may vary

You get bonus points for

  • Bachelor's degree or certification in a related field
  • Google Ads or Google Analytics certification
  • Experience teaching at a tech bootcamp, higher education program, or adult education school
  • Relevant experience working with students in higher education

Schedule

Six month contract. Approximately nine class hours per week. Hours may vary and are subject to change. The schedule is coordinated in advance and delivered live online.
