Position Title: Account Executive

Job Summary

The Account Executive at GreenBanana is pivotal in managing and nurturing the agency's client relationships. This role requires a blend of strategic thinking, collaboration, client service excellence, paid media knowledge, and practical AI fluency to support and grow our client accounts within the SEO and media buying landscape. The Account Executive will act as the primary liaison between clients and our internal teams, ensuring that campaigns align with client objectives, deliver measurable results, and continuously improve through strong analysis, platform expertise, and smart use of AI-assisted tools.

AI-Enabled Paid Media Strategy

This is not a developer role. However, the Account Executive is expected to be comfortable using AI models and AI-assisted tools to improve planning, optimization, analysis, reporting, creative testing, and client communication across Google Ads, Meta, LinkedIn, Programmatic, and other paid media channels. The right person is AI-curious, hands-on, and willing to look for practical ways AI can make campaigns stronger, faster, and smarter without replacing human judgment, platform expertise, or accountability.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, establishing strong relationships through regular, proactive communication.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including SEO, media buying, creative, and analytics, to develop and implement campaign strategies that meet client goals.
  • Conduct regular client meetings to review campaign performance, gather feedback, and explore opportunities for account growth and enhancement.
  • Develop a deep understanding of each client’s business, industry trends, and competitive landscape to provide strategic guidance and recommendations.
  • Monitor account performance, identifying and addressing any issues that may impact client satisfaction or retention.
  • Work closely with the finance team to ensure accurate invoicing, budget management, and financial planning for each account.
  • Participate in the development and presentation of pitches, proposals, and reports to existing and potential clients.
  • Contribute to the agency’s growth by identifying upsell and cross-sell opportunities within the client portfolio.
  • Use AI tools to support paid media strategy, campaign planning, audience research, competitor review, ad copy ideation, creative testing concepts, reporting narratives, and performance analysis.
  • Apply AI-assisted thinking to Google Ads, Meta, LinkedIn, and Programmatic campaigns to identify potential optimizations in targeting, messaging, budget allocation, campaign structure, landing page alignment, and conversion opportunities.
  • Use AI models to help analyze campaign trends, summarize performance data, identify anomalies, generate testing ideas, and turn raw performance information into clear client-facing recommendations.
  • Stay current on practical AI developments that may impact paid media, SEO, AEO, reporting, attribution, creative production, and client strategy.
  • Proactively bring AI-driven ideas, tools, workflows, or process improvements to the Client Service Director and internal team when they can improve campaign performance or operational efficiency.
  • Use AI responsibly, with appropriate judgment around client confidentiality, data privacy, brand accuracy, and final human review.
  • Avoid blindly accepting AI-generated recommendations. Validate AI-assisted outputs against campaign data, platform best practices, client goals, and real-world business context.

Non-Negotiables

  • Foster, cultivate, and maintain robust relationships with clients.
  • Efficiently work together with diverse team members across various functions to ensure that the campaign meets client objectives.
  • Lead client meetings to assess the relationship between the client and agency, and to identify potential opportunities.
  • Maintain a Minimum of 5% Account Growth YoY.
  • Maintain 85% Client Retention & a 9+ NPS Scoring.
  • Actively use AI as part of the role to improve campaign thinking, reporting, analysis, and internal efficiency.
  • Be able to explain practical examples of how AI has been used to improve work quality, speed, campaign analysis, or decision-making.
  • Do not treat AI as a shortcut for poor preparation, weak campaign knowledge, or lack of accountability.
  • Use AI with strong judgment, especially when working with client data, campaign recommendations, ad copy, reporting, or strategic guidance.
  • Consistently look for ways to improve campaign performance and client outcomes through smarter use of AI tools.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Advertising, Communications, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in account management or client services, preferably within an SEO or media buying agency environment.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Strong analytical abilities and proficiency in evaluating campaign performance data.
  • Ability to manage multiple client accounts and projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • High level of professionalism and client service orientation.
  • A collaborative team player with the ability to foster positive working relationships across different departments.
  • Knowledge of digital marketing strategies, SEO, media buying, and the overall digital landscape.
  • Hands-on experience using AI models such as ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity, Copilot, or similar tools in a professional or marketing-related context.
  • Comfortable using AI to improve paid media campaign thinking, ad copy development, reporting, research, optimization ideas, and workflow efficiency.
  • Demonstrated curiosity about AI and a willingness to experiment with new AI tools, prompts, workflows, and applications.
  • Ability to think creatively about how AI can support campaign strategy without relying on AI as a substitute for experience, accountability, or sound judgment.
  • Strong understanding of paid media platforms, including Google Ads, Meta Ads, LinkedIn Ads, and Programmatic advertising, with the ability to connect AI-assisted insights to actual campaign execution.
  • Ability to translate AI-assisted analysis into practical recommendations that clients and internal teams can understand and act on.

Pay: $60,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
