Summer Social Media & Communications Coordinator

Position Summary

The Summer Social Media and Communications Coordinator will support the execution of Queens Theatre’s external communications strategy during our peak summer season. This role is responsible for elevating the theatre’s public image, engaging audiences, and maintaining our distinct brand voice.

The Coordinator will assist in overseeing various marketing and communications functions—from social media to summer event promotions—ensuring consistency and compelling storytelling across all channels. The ideal candidate is deeply passionate about the performing arts, extremely detail-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative, and energetic nonprofit theatre environment.

Key Responsibilities

Social Media & Content Creation

• Campaign Management: Craft, schedule, and coordinate engaging social media content and promotional materials (including Instagram, Facebook, and other platforms) to promote summer performances, workshops, and community events.
• Asset Production: Work with Marketing Coordinator and Graphic Design consultant to craft e-newsletters, digital flyers, and promotional assets to effectively communicate Queens Theatre’s summer programming and local impact.
• Brand Consistency: Ensure a cohesive voice and visual style across all platforms, strictly adhering to the theatre’s established brand guidelines.
• Website Updates: Prepare and deliver timely, accurate program content to the internal marketing staff to ensure website listings reflect current showtimes, ticket availability, and special initiatives.

Onsite Event Coverage & Logistics

• Live Coverage: Must be available and present onsite for key Queens Theatre summer programs and community events.
• Real-Time Storytelling: Capture real-time event content, including photography/video, live social updates, audience engagement, artist/performer check-ins, and behind-the-scenes content.
