Job Description

Senior Product Marketing Manager, Insider Risk Management

=============================================================

About Gurucul

-----------------

Gurucul is the pioneer in Behaviorial AI, backed by 10+ years of proprietary research and now we’re applying that foundation to Insider Risk Management. We’ve launched an industry-first AI-driven IRM solution detection and triage are largely automated, so analysts spend their time on the risks that actually matter.

Role Summary

----------------

We’re hiring a Senior Product Marketing Manager to support this fast-growing opportunity and own how the market understands, evaluates, and chooses Gurucul.

This is a high-ownership role, joining a high-performing, collaborative team. You’ll set the positioning, run the launches, arm the field, and build the narrative that resonates with CISOs, insider-risk program owners, and the analysts shaping the category. The playbook isn’t fully written yet — you’ll have real latitude to define it, and the responsibility to back it with evidence.

If you do your best work when you’re trusted to go deep, hold a point of view, and move fast without dropping the quality bar, you’ll like it here.

Key Responsibilities

------------------------

  • *Positioning and messaging for Gurucul IRM*. Take a product that’s genuinely differentiated and ensure it’s clearly defined to customers. Build persuasive messaging frameworks structured around claim, proof, and objection-handling — frameworks sellers actually use and customers believe.
  • *Go-to-market and launches, end to end.* Own launch architecture — tiering, marketing strategy, content plan, sales-readiness, analyst sync — and the outcomes that follow. Treat new GTM motions as hypotheses to test, not just plans to execute.
  • *The narrative.* Build the story and slides behind the category — the insight an Insider Risk leader can repeat to their board in two sentences, not forty slides — and earn buy-in across product, sales, and leadership.
  • *Sales enablement and pre-sales partnership.* Build battlecards, demo flows, and sales guides that sellers and SEs keep using because they solve real field problems. Stay close to the field and iterate what you see.
  • *Competitive intelligence.* Map the IRM landscape — Proofpoint, DTEX, Microsoft Purview, Varonis, and others — with a clear view of where each genuinely wins versus where it only looks strong on paper. Turn that into assets the field can use under deal pressure.
  • *Content and demand support.* Produce high quality content that moves pipeline, and measure it by what matters: pipeline influence, sales-cited assets, analyst pickup. Push back when the metric being asked for is the wrong one.
  • *Subject-matter depth.* Build and maintain real credibility in IRM and UEBA — enough to create content for a CISO or CFO and hold your own in a customer conversation.

Required Qualifications

---------------------------

  • 4+ years in B2B product marketing / or equivalent, with focus in cybersecurity or compliance domains. Insider risk, data security, UEBA/behavioral analytics, or DLP is a strong plus
  • Ownership of complex, multi-stakeholder launches with outcomes you can name and defend.
  • A repeatable method for building technical credibility quickly — customer ride-alongs, SE shadowing, vendor-doc work, certifications — and the fluency to use it with technical buyers.
  • Strong product partnership instincts; you work with technical PMs as complementary partners.
  • A specific grasp of the IRM buyer — decision-maker, technical evaluator, budget owner, the job to be done, and where they sit in the broader security org.
  • Messaging and storytelling craft that holds up with sellers and analysts, grounded in evidence and customer voice.
  • Bias for action, with the judgment to know when to ship fast and when something needs more time.
  • Comfort with ambiguity. You can decide whether to ship, delay, or rescope against clear trade-offs, and make the call.
  • Results orientation. You set success metrics up front and own them honestly.
