Position Purpose

The Director of Marketing and Communications develops and implements strategies that build awareness and understanding of Nebraska Community Foundation (NCF) among current and potential stakeholders and further the organization’s goal of creating an optimistic, confident brand for Greater Nebraska. This position is responsible for both internal and external communications that motivate individuals to act in ways that benefit Nebraska Community Foundation and advance its mission.

Examples of Specific Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop an annual work plan and budget to advance the NCF brand in communications with all NCF target audiences.
  • Write, edit and manage the design and distribution of printed and electronic materials produced on behalf of NCF and its affiliated funds.
  • Lead website content management and enhancement for the purposes of marketing, branding, donor acquisition and retention, and services for affiliated fund leaders.
  • Write and serve as primary contact for media releases; Build and maintain relationships with traditional and emerging media contacts.
  • Supports CEO as primary NCF spokesperson.
  • Oversee social media content strategy.
  • Expand marketing opportunities by producing content for appropriate social media platforms.
  • Serve as executive producer for video productions.
  • Determine best advertising vehicles, develop materials and manage media buys.
  • Work with NCF staff and the Board Communications Committee to develop Annual Celebration themes and program; Write annual banquet script.
  • Submit nominations for various industry awards that raise the profile of NCF.
