Job Description
OVERVIEW
We are a full-service digital marketing and engineering agency looking for an experienced, hands-on Senior SEO Specialist to own SEO delivery across a portfolio of B2B, lead-generation, e-commerce, and local clients.
This is an ongoing contractor role that combines strategy, execution, reporting, and client communication. We need someone who can set direction, do the work, communicate clearly, and collaborate with our internal content and development teams.
You will be expected to personally perform audits, research, technical recommendations, on-page updates, content briefs, reporting, and client-facing communication as needed.
The right person has strong technical SEO judgment, lead-generation experience, and the ability to manage multiple accounts without heavy oversight.
RESPONSIBILITIES
You will own SEO execution across assigned accounts, including:
- Technical SEO audits covering crawlability, indexation, site architecture, Core Web Vitals, schema, redirects, canonicals, sitemap issues, and other technical blockers
- Keyword research, search-intent mapping, and competitor analysis using Ahrefs and SEMrush
- On-page SEO recommendations and implementation, including titles, H1s, metadata, internal linking, content structure, and optimization opportunities
- Content briefs and outlines using query networks, entities, SERP analysis, TF-IDF/N-gram insights where appropriate, and clear direction for writers
- GEO / AI-search optimization for AI Overviews, answer engines, and search visibility beyond traditional rankings
- Local SEO support, including Google Business Profile optimization, posts, reporting, and geo-location tracking through BrightLocal or similar tools
- Backlink profile monitoring, linkbuilding coordination when needed, and toxic backlink review/disavow recommendations
- GA4, Google Search Console, Microsoft Clarity, and rank-tracking review
- Monthly client reporting covering rankings, traffic, conversions, opportunities, risks, and recommended next steps
- Client calls or email support when needed to explain findings, recommendations, and priorities
- Monitoring algorithm updates, ranking changes, and process improvements with our internal team
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
Please apply only if you have:
- Strong hands-on SEO experience across technical SEO, on-page SEO, content strategy, local SEO, and reporting
- Proven B2B, enterprise-level, and/or lead-generation SEO experience
- Experience managing multiple SEO accounts at the same time
- Ability to explain SEO clearly to non-technical stakeholders
- Working knowledge of Ahrefs, SEMrush, GA4, Google Search Console, Screaming Frog, BrightLocal, or similar tools
- Comfort collaborating with developers, content teams, paid media teams, and client stakeholders
- Reliable communication, consistent turnaround, and the ability to work independently
This role requires someone who can execute directly. Please do not apply if your experience is primarily high-level strategy, account management, or outsourced SEO delivery.
INITIAL ENGAGEMENT
We will begin with a paid audit or defined SEO initiative on one account so we can assess fit.
The initial deliverable may include
- Technical SEO audit
- Priority issue list
- Keyword/content opportunity review
- Competitor snapshot
- Recommended 30/60/90-day SEO action plan
- Summary that can be shared with internal stakeholders or clients
If the initial engagement goes well, the goal is to expand into ongoing weekly support across multiple client accounts.
TO APPLY, PLEASE INCLUDE
- A brief summary of your relevant B2B, enterprise, and/or lead-generation SEO experience
- 1–2 examples of SEO work you personally executed, including results where available
- A redacted audit, SEO report, content brief, or technical SEO example, if available
- Your weekly availability
- Your typical turnaround time for an audit, content brief, and monthly report
- The tools you use day-to-day
- Your hourly rate or preferred project structure for the initial audit
SCREENING QUESTIONS
Please answer the following in your application:
- Describe how you would investigate a sudden organic traffic drop after a Google core update.
- What are the first technical SEO issues you usually check during an audit?
- How do you prioritize SEO recommendations when development resources are limited?
- What SEO work have you personally executed for a B2B or lead-generation client, and what changed as a result?
Individual practitioners only. Agencies, white-label providers, and account managers representing a team will not be considered.
