This pivotal role involves shaping our brand identity, enhancing public relations, managing media relations, and executing innovative marketing campaigns. Duties
- Develop and implement comprehensive communication and marketing strategies that promote brand awareness and organizational objectives.
- Oversee the creation of press releases, speeches, articles, and other content, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and adherence to AP style guidelines.
- Manage media relations by building strong relationships with journalists, editors, and media outlets; coordinate interviews and press conferences.
- Lead social media management efforts to grow audiences, increase engagement, and maintain a consistent voice across all platforms.
- Conduct research to stay informed on industry trends, audience preferences, and competitive positioning to refine messaging approaches.
- Serve as the organization’s spokesperson for public speaking engagements, conferences, and community events.
- Supervise editing and proofreading of all external communications to ensure professionalism and accuracy.
- Coordinate internal communications to foster transparency and a cohesive organizational culture.
Requirements
- Proven experience in public relations, marketing, journalism, or related fields with demonstrated success in leading communication teams.
- Exceptional writing skills with expertise in crafting press releases, speeches, articles, and social media content.
- Strong understanding of AP style for clear and consistent messaging.
- Excellent communication skills and public speaking abilities are essential for representing the organization confidently.
- Proficiency in media relations strategies, including building relationships with journalists and managing press inquiries.
- Experience managing social media platforms with an ability to develop engaging content calendars.
- Skilled in research methods to analyze market trends and audience insights for targeted campaigns.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail in editing and proofreading tasks.
