Our North Bethesda showroom features a distinctive collection of modern and contemporary furniture, statement pieces, and home accessories. We work with homeowners, interior designers, real estate professionals, and builders to create beautiful, thoughtfully designed living spaces.

We are looking for an outgoing, creative, and customer-focused Luxury Furniture Sales Associate & Social Media Content Creator who enjoys connecting with people, has an eye for interior design, and loves creating engaging digital content.

Position Overview

Do you enjoy helping people create beautiful spaces? Are you comfortable on camera and passionate about Instagram, TikTok, and interior design?

This position combines showroom sales with social media content creation.

You will assist customers with furniture selections, build relationships, and help generate sales while creating engaging videos and visual content that showcase our showroom, products, and design inspiration.

The ideal candidate is personable, confident, creative, dependable, and motivated to contribute to both showroom sales and brand growth.

This is an in-person position. Remote work is not available.

Key Responsibilities

Showroom Sales & Customer Experience

• Welcome showroom visitors and provide attentive, professional customer service.
• Assist customers with furniture selection, styling ideas, and product recommendations.
• Learn our furniture collections, materials, dimensions, and product features.
• Build relationships with customers, interior designers, and other design professionals.
• Follow up with prospective customers and assist with closing sales.
• Work toward individual and team sales goals.
• Support showroom merchandising, product displays, and overall presentation.
• Assist with customer inquiries, quotes, and order-related communications.

Social Media Content Creation

• Create engaging short-form videos and visual content for Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, Pinterest, and YouTube Shorts.
• Film and edit Instagram Reels, TikToks, Stories, and other social media content.
• Showcase furniture collections, new arrivals, product features, and styling ideas.
• Create content that helps customers solve common furnishing and design challenges.
• Develop creative concepts, hooks, captions, and storytelling ideas.
• Participate in on-camera product presentations and showroom walkthroughs.
• Capture content during showroom events, promotions, and home staging projects when scheduled.
• Stay informed about relevant social media trends and content formats.
• Maintain a consistent, polished visual presentation that reflects the Modern Contempo brand.

Content Topics May Include

• Furniture styling tips and design inspiration.
• How to choose the right furniture for different spaces.
• Product comparisons and furniture buying advice.
• New arrivals and customer favorites.
• Showroom walkthroughs and behind-the-scenes content.
• Modern and contemporary interior design trends.

• Home staging transformations.
• Product demonstrations and featured collections.

Community Engagement & Influencer Support

• Help build relationships with local content creators, influencers, and design professionals.
• Support showroom visits, creator collaborations, and promotional events.
• Assist with social media community engagement and customer inquiries.
• Identify opportunities to increase brand awareness and attract showroom visitors.
• Coordinate with management on influencer and partnership opportunities.

Marketing Collaboration

• Work with our Digital Marketing & E-Commerce team to support promotional campaigns.
• Capture product photos and videos for website and advertising use.
• Support new product launches and seasonal marketing initiatives.
• Collaborate on creative concepts and campaign messaging.
• Help maintain a consistent brand image across marketing platforms.

Required Qualifications

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Friendly, outgoing personality with a genuine interest in helping customers.
• Comfortable speaking and appearing on camera.
• Experience creating Instagram Reels, TikTok videos, or similar short-form content.
• Familiarity with Instagram, TikTok, and current social media trends.
• Basic video editing skills using CapCut, Canva, or similar applications.
• Strong attention to detail and visual presentation.
• Ability to manage time effectively between sales and content creation.
• Reliable, organized, and self-motivated.
• Willingness to learn furniture products, design styles, and sales techniques.
• Ability to work on-site at our North Bethesda showroom.

Preferred Qualifications

• At least one year of retail sales or customer service experience.
• Experience selling furniture, home furnishings, or other design-focused products.
• Interest or experience in interior design and home styling.
• Photography or videography experience.
• Experience creating content for a business or brand.
• Familiarity with social media engagement and content performance.
• Experience with influencer collaborations or community outreach.
• A portfolio or examples of previously created social media content.

Schedule & Compensation

• $20.00–$23.00 per hour, depending on experience.
• Part-time position, approximately 24–30 hours per week.
• Sales commission opportunities.
• In-person work at our North Bethesda showroom.
• Schedule determined based on showroom needs.
